Admission under different rules to those applicable to Polish citizens 

Foreign citizens with a residence permit granting them “access to the labor market”, a Schengen visa, or a national visa issued by their country for the purpose of performing work in the territory of the Republic of Poland can study as tuition payers. They are not eligible for social scholarships, special scholarships for the handicapped or allowances.

 

The list of documents for First-cycle programmes:

Candidates/Foreigners applying for admittance to the 1st year of study are required to submit the following documents:

1. personal data form;

2. a letter of application to the Vice-Chancellor for Education (Prorektor ds. studenckich) – in the case of persons applying for admission on terms and conditions other than those

applicable to Polish citizens ;

3. Polish secondary school graduation certificate or foreign secondary school graduation certificate legalised or certified by an apostille;

4. Polish translation of the secondary school graduation certificate prepared by a sworn translator entered on the list of certified translators of the Polish Ministry of Justice

search.html), or certified by a Polish consul in the country where the certificate was obtained;

5. certificate stating the equivalence of a foreign secondary school graduation certificate with the relevant Polish certificate issued pursuant to the regulations on the recognition of school

certificates and secondary school graduation certificates obtained abroad, submitted by the end of the first semester of studies;

6. A certificate of Polish language at a minimum of B1 level issued by State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language or certificate of completion one year course of Polish language. Certificates of Polish language are NOT REQUIRED for studies: Polish Studies for International Students, German Philology;

7. document evidencing the Polish origin, pursuant to the Repatriation Act of 09.11.2000 (Polish Journal of Laws – Dz.U. of 2004, No. 53(532) as amended) – this does not apply to persons

holding a valid Karta Polaka (Polish Card);

8. medical certificate, with its Polish translation prepared by a sworn translator, stating that there are no contraindications for the candidate to study in the chosen field;

9. copy of an identity document (identity card, passport);

10. valid visa or residence card (karta pobytu), or other document entitling the holder to reside in the Republic of Poland;

11. health insurance policy and personal accident insurance policy for the duration of study in Poland, or the European Health Insurance Card, or insurance with the National Health Fund

(NFZ) in Poland taken immediately after commencing education in Poland;

12. 1 coloured photograph (35 x 45 mm, in accordance with the requirements of issuing identity cards) + 1 photograph on a disc (digital format: JPEG/TIFF/BMP, minimal resolution: 235 x

296, maximal resolution: 6000 x 6000, maximal size: 5MB);

13. confirmation of the payment of 50 EUR entrance fee and the tuition fee for a given year of study in the amount decided by the university to the bank

account of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (this concerns fee-paying students):

The fee is paid in the Polish Zloty, and it is calculated based on the Euro exchange rate published by Narodowy Bank Polski on the date of payment.

 

The persons holding a document evidencing their Polish origin, are entitled to a 30% tuition fee reduction.

After the enrollment closes, candidates should wait for the decision from the university.

 

The list of documents for Second-cycle Master programmes:

1. Questionnaire;

2. Application to the Vice Rector for Student Affairs

3. The higher education diploma of first-cycle studies issued by a Polish institution or the diploma issued by a foreign institution that is legalized or bearing an apostille authorizing its holder to commence second-cycle studies in the country where the diploma was issued,

4. A translation of the diploma into Polish performed by a sworn translator registered on the list of translators by the Polish Ministry of Justice, or authenticated by the Consul of the Republic of Poland in the country where the document was issued

5. The document confirming the legally binding statement of Polish origin in accordance with the provisions of the Act of November 09, 2000 on repatriation (Official Journal of 2004 no 53, item 532 with further amendments)* except of the holders of valid Polish Charters.

6. A sworn translation into Polish of a medical certificate confirming that there are no contraindications for their studying a given major,

7. A copy of ID (ID card, passport),

8. A valid visa, residence permit or other document entitling the holder to stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland;

9. An insurance policy against illness or accident for the period of studies in Poland or a European Health Insurance Card, or a contract with the National Health Fund in Poland – to be submitted immediately after the beginning of studies,

10. 1 recent color photograph measuring 35 x 45 mm (complying with the requirements for ID or passport photographs),

11. A confirmation of the enrolment fee of EUR 50 paid into the bank account of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań – applicable to applicants for tuition paid studies. Payments should be made to:

This payment shall be made in Polish zloty at the average exchange rate of the euro determined by the Polish National Bank on the date of payment.

 

*) the amount to be paid by holders of a document confirming the legally binding statement of Polish origin is reduced by 30% for a given year
