MOST is a student and Ph.D. student mobility programme. Since 1999, it has enjoyed unflagging interest, enabling students to study for a semester or an entire academic year at one of Poland's twenty universities.
Participation in the programme is free of charge and independent of the mode of study. MOST offers the possibility to:
- pursue a study programme at a university other than one's home university,
- choose additional courses related to the student's interests,
- contact with specialists in a given field working at a university other than their home university,
- use the book collection of another university, to make library searches outside the home institution,
- conducting research for a seminar, master's thesis or doctoral dissertation in an environment related to the subject of analysis,
- establishing contacts with the research community of another faculty, institute, department,
- demonstrate, also to a future employer, the ability to adapt to new conditions, mobility.
Who can participate?
A participant/participant of the programme can be:
- a student after completing the second semester of a unified master's degree programme,
- a student having completed the second semester of a Bachelor's degree programme,
- a student after completing the first semester of second-cycle studies.
A student in the course of each degree programme, i.e. during her bachelor's or master's studies, may be a participant in the MOST programme for a maximum period of one academic year.
This does not mean that she/he can only be a programme participant at one host university and only for the duration of the entire academic year. She/he may also go twice for one semester to two different universities or twice for one semester to the same university.
A student/participant may not, as part of her/his participation in the MOST programme, study at another course of study at her/his home university.
Participation criteria
When qualifying a student for participation in the programme, the University Education Committee takes into account:
- the number of places submitted to the MOST programme offer by each university and the number of students interested in each course.
- ranking performed by the Dean's Office of the home university, i.e. awarding bonus points to individual candidates, in the case of multiple applicants from a given faculty/institute/discipline for a given place from the offer, is based on the average marks from the entire course of study and on documented academic achievements, involvement in activities for the academic community, personal motivation of the student.
- letter of motivation - its writing is not a condition for participation in the recruitment. The student may attach it to the application submitted to the University Coordinator, who in turn will forward it to the University Education Committee. It is advisable to draw up such a letter if you are applying for an exchange programme in one of the fields of study which is very popular (e.g. law, psychology, journalism).
I have qualified! What next?
On receipt of a successful qualification decision, the student will draw up a Learning Agreement - the form can be completed by computer or by hand. Any vertical expansion of the table is allowed.
For the content of the agreement, the student must obtain the approval (stamp and signature) of the Dean or Deputy Dean of the home university and then of the host university. Each page of the printed document should be initialled.
Any change to a previously concluded agreement requires a written form and the consent of the dean or vice-dean expressed in the form of a signature on the document Annex to the Learning Agreement.
A participant in the MOST programme has the right to study according to an individual study organisation and to choose any subject from the current study programme in the course of study for which they have been qualified.
The number of ECTS credits a student will receive for completing the relevant MOST programme coursework and placements at the Host University can be found on the Learning Agreement. The decision on the allocation of the appropriate number of ECTS credits for their realisation is taken by the Dean at the Host University.
Within the MOST programme, it is possible to realise courses in the e-learning and b-learning format, as well as to choose only one course from the offer of the Host University, if it is unique, i.e. not conducted at the Home University.
The student is obliged to submit the Learning Agreement to the Host University (copy) and the Home University (original) by 30 October - for the winter semester or the entire academic year, and by 15 March - for the summer semester.
Students in the final year of their Bachelor's, Master's or Single Master's degree programme are required to attend an undergraduate/master's seminar at their home university. The form of participation is determined by the respective supervisor from the home university.
Attention!
Please note that your student card must be renewed at your home university.
Resignation from participation
A student may resign from the MOST programme. They are obliged to do so in writing by sending an e-mail to the MOST programme National Coordinator Paulina Kaźmierczak: pkaz@amu.edu.pl or by post to the address of the Secretariat:
University Education Committee
ul. Wieniawskiego 1
61-712 Poznań
Resignation should be sent as soon as possible after the occurrence of the circumstances preventing the departure, but not later than by 30 September (recruitment for the winter semester and the whole academic year) and by 31 January (recruitment for the summer semester). If this deadline is not met, the student will be listed as a participant of the MOST programme in the documents of both the home and host universities. This may result in not being able to complete the semester or academic year at the home university, as the Learning Agreement signed by the student as still in force will not be fulfilled.
A resignation is considered accepted when the student receives a confirmation of its acceptance sent to the e-mail address (given in the registration form in the IRK MOST system) by an employee of the UEC Secretariat.
Remember!
The sooner a resignation is sent, the greater the chance that another Student on the reserve list will take up a place on a given course.
Finalization of the exchange
The trip within the programme should end with obtaining entries on the student's periodic achievement card.
Upon return to the Home University, the student is required to present the student's Transcript of Records to the Dean, the Vice-Dean or the Dean's Plenipotentiary for Student Affairs (it is also permissible to present the Transcript of Records printed from the USOS system and stamped by an employee of the Dean's Office at the Host University to confirm the authenticity of the printout and its conformity with the data contained in the system).
After reviewing the documents, the Dean's Office decides whether the student has fulfilled the obligations contained in the Learning Agreement. Once the documents have been accepted, the Dean's Office at the Home University transcribes the marks from the periodic achievement sheet (or, as appropriate, the presented printout from the USOS system).
The exchange student/participant also receives a certificate of participation in the MOST programme.
